We're taking a short break from unpacking the design process for the Cleveland Medical Mart facade and have a new post focusing on the lighting studies we did for the central atrium. Radiance, Grasshopper, and Exposure (3DSMAX) were all used to design and test various skylight configurations. Rather than using a handful of huge skylights there…

This is a definition (WIP, attached) which creates sections for a laser cutter from opened or closed single geometry. This won't work on every geometry, but it will work for a lot of them. It uses offsets and booleans so it may be difficult to predict.
I'm also playing with a way to minimize material area for cutting (with galapagos). If anyone can offer help to improve it, let me know!
Update:
- Some issues with outside…

Some time ago, Han Feng of Hyperbody [hyperbody.nl / makeahybrid.org] did a really great job and modified the old 3d voronoi grasshopper definition and made it much more sleek and streamlined. In all good faith, here it is: …

The last post we shared look at how we used Grasshopper to layout panels for the facade of the Cleveland Medical Mart. This post looks at the geometry and texture of those panels. The beauty of using Grasshopper was that we were able to explore lots of iterations, almost too many. The interesting thing this does is to initially focus the design discussions on…

I have just post in our Co-de-iT website the "Blender2GH" tutorial - a simple GH definition to import a Blender3D geometry via export .PLY file format.
It is not a tutorial about scripting techniques (i'm not a coder) or a specific tool to import Blender geometry. It is, in substance, an example about cross_platform connection and also about how much is important to understand…

Hello everybody,
I have a group of points from a rectangular grid that I´m applying to differents facades.to create modular windows.
I want to dispatch this group, reducing the number of points according to a percent (I can do this with random reduce, but in a random way, I would like something more organized, like removing 1 point every 3).
Can I control the dispatch tool on this way?
Thank you!
