algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Over the course of the next month or so we'll be rolling a few posts which describe our design process for the panelization and texturing of a doubly curved feature wall. The project is still in design development so we're not allowed to share everything at this point, but we can share our recent efforts to build a physical model for lighting studies. Follow the link to read more about our use of the 3d printer + CNC router in modeling process.

During the production of presentations, a constant need to select/ coordinate project color scheme's has made Kuler a great aid. The problem has been that this worked amazingly for Adobe products, but not for anything else. To meet this need, I developed a simple VB script for Grasshopper that reads through the ASE files and extracts the HEX, RGB, and CMYK values and deceminates them to coordinated C, M, Y, K, R, G, B values lists.…

As an industrial designer and bicycle antousiast, I have tried to build a parametric tool with grasshopper to research bicycle geometries within Rhino.
here is the Gh definition.
Comments are welcomen.

Hey y'all,
I was wondering if there is a definition in which you can generate a surface which is crooked and has inclinations, very similar to that of a climbing wall, because that's what I am trying to generate, a climbing wall. Please, see image for reference.
Thank you

Our site was almost 1000 ft long, so i sliced it into 10 columns, 100 ft long each. 5 tracks passing along this patch further dividing it into more islands. i made a theory of islands and rivers, where people will behave same as if they are left in a plane with 5 rivers... supposing that the last row of island will be the least visited area.

I really dont believe in random deformation. I started with the reciprocal motion in steam engine. i came across a very interesting phenomenon in the old piece of machinery , that is the main flywheel that we see in old engines were not only producing momentum but also regulating intake valve in piston.
I broke it down it into system and energy. Machinery being the system and steam being the energy. I took them and pasted over the station and the users. System=Railway…

It was brought to my attention (thankfully) that there was a bug in the last build of Firefly (1.004) which was causing Rhino to crash upon closing any Grasshopper document. Thanks to David's help, I was able to track down the problem and a new release of Firefly (1.005) has just been uploaded to the Firefly website. If you have an older version, it is highly recommended that you upgrade to this newest release. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused and we welcome any…

Hi there,
here I share the definition for that honeycomb structure. I did clean up the file, using some groups and notes, to make it easy to understand.

Hi,
I am desperatly looking for an old version of grasshopper which would work on Rhino 4.0 SR6.
Rhino had been installed on my computer by school technicians so I dont have the CD key to upgrade to newest version of Rhino.
I had a working version of grasshopper 2 weeks ago but I thought it would be clever to download the newest which doesn't work... not so clever after all
Please, can someone help me?!

Jason K. Johnson and I are proud to announce the release of Firefly version 1.004 - a set of tools dedicated to bridging the gap between Grasshopper (a free plug-in for Rhino), the Arduino micro-controller, the internet and beyond. This release adds a few new components the toolbar, including the new Ports Available component which polls your device manager and returns the COM number assigned…

As a followup to the Grasshopper - Excel Suite, and because open office is free, I have begun the process of converting GH-XL to GH-OOo.
Apologies for it being incomplete as compared to the GH-Excel tool, but time just hasn't allowed for a faster pace. Hope you find it useful.

Just wanted to share some learning resources that I developed for a grasshopper workshop that I taught. They include a series of videos, some accompanying notes (blog entries) and down-loadable definitions and rhino models. These tutorials are geared more towards novice users. All the resources can be found on our blog atelierbinturong and the videos are on our vimeo page…
