algorithmic modeling for Rhino
It's been a while since we've had a new Firefly update... but finally... the wait is over! I'm excited to release Firefly version 1.0.0.068 which has several new features and enhancements.
There are also several new computer vision tools and enhancements. There are two new components which allow you to save snapshots of different Firefly bitmaps to a directory on your computer. One gives you an immediate snapshot whenever you click a button, whereas the other saves a sequence of images based on a time frequency. There's also been a few enhancements to the Kinect tools.
While we're on the topic of computer vision... I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the new Leap Motion Finger Tracking component. If you haven't seen this impressive piece of hardware, make sure you check out (https://www.leapmotion.com/). The Firefly Finger Tracker gives you immediate access to real-time location and orientation of all your detected fingers and pointers. You can also turn on/off different features like finger trails, finger mesh representations, and palm plane orientations. It's incredibly fun and has the potential to radically change how we work with computers.
In addition, the Firefly/Arduino Stepper motor workflow has been completely re-worked and now features a call-back (or echo) function which allows you to wait until the stepper has reached its destination before feeding it the next movement command. Simply connect a list of absolute movement values, and it will wait until it has finished the last command before issuing the next command. However, if you connect a single value, like that of a slider, it will automatically move to the most recent value to avoid latency. Now, you can choreograph all of your intricate stepper movements til your hearts content!
There are many more features, so make sure you read the change log that comes with the installer. As usual, you can download the latest version of Firefly on the official website. Please leave any comments if you find any bugs or errors with this build.

In response to Yassir's installation problem, I have just re-uploaded separate installers - one for 64-bit Rhino 5.0 and one for 32-bit Rhino 5.0. If you're having difficulty installing Firefly, try re-downloading the latest build as this issue should be fixed now.

I am very exited about the new update. But I couldn't use leap finger tracker in firefly. I have an old developer version of leap motion device. I can see my fingers in visualiser, device is working.
Could you give some hints on how to use it, please.

I did it already, uninstalled old version and installed your new update with Firefly_Installer_1.0.0.68_x64.msi.
I saw that, you have changed leap finger tracker. The problem is, i dont know what is to be done!
It would be helpfull, when I have an example.
leap device is working. I have a green leap device icon, which i can selecting with right mouse taste leap software settings screen.

Hurra! I have just now the new leap device and I can see my fingers on canvas!
After installation the new software, my old device has updated his firmware and it is working, too.

In the same vain as the last post, It seems that the Firefly_X assembly is missing the node for Leap Finger Tracker. I am running rhino on 64-bit, just updated windows and downloaded the latest Firefly build today. I am at a loss why the leap motion components do not display in the Firefly tab.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Jason,
I apologize about the trouble. Usually when the entire toolbar doesn't load correctly, it's because the wrong version of Firefly has been installed on your machine. Are you using 32-bit Rhino 5? or 64-bit? Can you double-check that you've downloaded the correct version for your system. You may need to uninstall your current version (using Add/Remove Programs) and reinstall to get everything working properly. Please let me know if you continue to have trouble.

Hi Andy,
I seem to be having the same issue as some others. I am running the 64bit version of Rhino 5 I downloaded from http://fireflyexperiments.com/download/. So after I downloaded the 64 bit version of Firefly, the issue is that upon loading grasshopper, it crashes at 47% while attempting to loading "Firefly_X" . I see this was a bug fixed in the latest version. I have tried loading it with and without the leap motion plugged in and either way it crashes.
Any thoughts?
