algorithmic modeling for Rhino
hello,
im trying to create planar hexagon panels on a parabolic dome,
so far i was unable to make it happen
i've attached the last GH definition i tried to use and the rhino model.
if anyone can help me i would appreciate it very much!!

It can't be actual hexagons, they can only be stacked in the flat plane as far as I know. So the question is what are you willing to compromise on (edge length variation, edge angles, non-planarity) and how much?

hi , thanks for the quick reply... i konw that they can't be actual hexagon panels (in my definition i projected a hexagonal grid on a parabolic surface so that alone transformed their shape)
basically i'm willing to compromise on edge length and angles... but i need the panels to be planar... that is why i tried to use kangaroo and a planarizing force but i couldn't get the definition to work properly.

Try to use Hexagon Cells from LunchBox add-on......
it doesnt work with that in the way i want...
it has something to do with the way the surface is constructed and the grid is applied to it.... because its a parabolic surface (or dome) the subdivision is a radial one and that changes the way the hexagon are mapped on the surface
Any luck finding the right definition? I'm trying to do the same thing right now and I´m having trouble making planar hexagons, there is always a distorsion on the surface.
