Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi guys,
I'm absolutely new at GH + Rhino and I am searching for a solution to generate a curved shell, but the last hours I'm stuck on this step:
I want to make a modificable surface (lenght, width, height) on basis of 2 Nurbs-Curves.
My problem:  I have a few Ideas how to solve it (surface from points of nurbs curves / lofts between many nurbs curves / ...), but they failed because of my actuall skills. Do you have an Idea? I tried it for hours.....

I'm so sorry for my Rookie-Level problem/question.

Without delving into how you make your curves*, here is one solution.

Surface Tab > Freeform Panel > [Network Surface]

At its most basic level of Data Management the best thing you can do here is to flatten every input so that it matches all curves correctly.

* With Grasshopper there are multiple ways to achieve the same result, this is part of the learning process.

Hey Danny, thank you sooo much for your fast and professional answer!! :)

I Know.. the way how I get my curves might be strange for you as a professional.
Is there an easy way for drawing the curve so I can influence the behavior of the vault like the volume or something much clearer?

EDIT: I noticed that there is a little vault.. How I could prevent it?

Thank you!!

Because of the coarseness of your definition. i.e. on a few curves

I would say that its a strange way. Its just that with time you will learn about data matching and path management which means that you won't necessarily have to have so many components for only a few objects.

If I get a chance later I'll post an example.

I would appreciate!!! Thank you!!

I would probably approach it this way.

Generate a grid of points from a flat surface.

Manipulate those points based on some sort of rules. i.e distance to edge combined with a factor etc.

Possible manipulate them with a graph mapper

Use [Surface from Points] on the modified list to get a new surface.

YOU JUST MADE MY DAY
Thank you so much!

no problem

Just so you know I didn't mean to say:

"I would say that its a strange way."

but rather

I wouldn't say......

If you are referring to the images I used in the answer when you say Professional. These are part of the standard Grasshopper tools. Ctrl + Shift + Q will get you the quick Image Exported. And Ctrl + Alt + Click on component will get you the location Arrows.

Thx! :)
