algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello Hoppers!
i tried to figure out how the "production" background works, because the mathematical is to hard for me:
Its a rectangle twisted 180° and extruded around a curve. Then to extrude it around a curve, always normal to the curve.
But i have no idea how to start :( its my first project in GH. Please Help!

It's all in the definition. Take a look at it. I've used ListItem and Insert components to do so.
cheers

Hey Zeiman,
please send me the latest definition of yours, and i'll try to fix it. Just looking at the pictures it's difficult to say what's wrong exactly. Might be that the profile isn't centered and hasn't two symmetries ect...let's see the definition.
Best regards,
FF
Here is the way this can be adjusted. The problem is, that you're not using a flat rail curve as the circle is from the classic moebius torus.
Yours is a freeform rail and so the perpendicular frames are aligned to the curves direction. The rotation along the z-axis of each frame isn't doing a complete 1PI turn during the curve domain. So i've added a slider to the range of a complete turn and it will do a 0.6 PI turn ... and the result is this:

FF
You're welcome. Of course it's not easy the first time, but it's worth it.
Hi Zeiman,
I've looked at your last files but i don't really get the point of this issue. What do you want to do with this thing in the end? Do you use it to make any physical model?
Do you wan't to have 4 identical pieces, which build this "moebius"? If so it's clear, that the curve has to be symmetrical in 2 axis. Please define any further what's your desired result and i can guide you the direction / help you with some definitions.
Cheers
FF
Hey Zeiman,
this looks great. i'm amazed by the scale of your work. What's the material. Didn't expect such a big and well detailed moebius ;-) great work. compliments.
i thought it's looks like aluminium, but wouldn't believe. hihi
3d bent...mhhhh :-D looking forward for a video documentary
