Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hello,

i took points from an excel spreadsheet and made a surface from those points.  that set of points formed a grid, a nice 5x7 grid.  now i want to take points that aren't in a grid and make a surface from them.  how do i do that?

i'm receiving an error message from the construct point component that reads: Data conversion failed from text to number.

does anyone have any suggestions?  files are attached.

any help is appreciated!

For the surface component, you need to have points in a grid. That means you need to use a different component to create a surface. Try Delaunay Edges or Delaunay Mesh in the Mesh tab, Triangulation

The point component turns red because of empty lines in your excel sheet.

thank you, martin.  the delaunay mesh works well.

however, now that i am looking at the surface, it is a flat plane, even when none of the z values is 0.  do you know how to incorporate the z values with the delaunay mesh?

ok, looks like i just need to exaggerate it vertically.  the change in z is much smaller than the change in x and y.
