Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Download the plug-in here:

SketchfabUpload.zip

Remember to right click the GHA and the DLL, go to properties, and select "unblock."

An example file setup:

Sketchfab Upload Example.gh

You will need to set up an account on http://www.sketchfab.com and get your own API token to complete the example definition (or to upload anything else to sketchfab.)

It looks great. But Im getting the following message:

1. Solution exception:Could not load file or assembly 'Ionic.Zip, Version=1.9.1.8, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=edbe51ad942a3f5c' or one of its dependencies. El sistema no puede encontrar el archivo especificado.

I have already changed my API number but this message keeps showing up.

What can I do? Thanks a lot!

Thanks Federico - forgot to include an important file. Try the new download above and install both the GHA and the DLL.

hello andrew

great job - I just catched this site some days ago and you already come up with the plug-in. :-D

works great now with de .dll but the colours doesn't seam to upload with the example or am I'm doing something wrong?

Hi Christian - Strange that the colors don't upload. Are you just using the example file as supplied?

Hi Christian -

Would you do me a favor and try replacing the .GHA file with the one attached? I have disabled the functionality that deletes the upload files after they are uploaded, so I can make sure they've all been written properly. Try the example again with this GHA, and then tell me which files are written to the directory you specified in "Dir".

Hopefully we can find a solution to your issue!

hello andrew,

i did as suggested but only the .obj is uploaded - so it looks like the color information gets lost before (at least in my case) ..

Another thing to try - create some objects in rhino manually, and assign materials to them. Then open the Macro Editor and paste this:

_-Export _SaveTextures=Yes _GeometryOnly=No "C:\SOME LOCATION ON YOUR HARD DRIVE\File.obj" _Enter _ExportMaterialDefinitions=Yes _YUp=Yes _Enter

Change the file location in the macro, and check to see if a .mtl file has been exported. If not, try changing some of the settings in the -Export command until you get one to show up. Please let me know what you find! I appreciate your patience in troubleshooting this with me :)

hello! i run the makro but still only a .obj is created. the commandline says:

looks like heres the problem; does it work fine on your machine?

Good catch - I've posted an update to the zip file above. Try downloading the new version and let me know if it works correctly now.

Thanks for the help!

works like a charm!

people can start floating sketchfap with gh models now :D

thank you andrew!

Hi, I've the same issue, but I've tried with all the versions you upload here, can you attach a SketchfabUploader version that allows me to upload colors please? Thanks!
