Are you using the Google search on the sidebar?

Hi guys,

I have exactly the same problem.

I am using the normal one - forum search, not the google one.

It just saying that cannot find anything.

What can be the problem?

Kind regards,

Dmitriy

For what its worth, here is the earlier discussion: http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/ning-search-not-working?c...

But I can say for certain that it doesn't matter what browser you are using. It does not work on the "top" search field but does on the "side" search field (but this does not filter by discussions)

And the Google "Test Site:www.grasshopper3d.com" will produce the same results as the "side" search field

We don't need to trouble David with this sort of thing, it might stop the creative juices flowing! :)

Use the "Report an Issue" at the bottom of the page and Scott should take care of it.

I had an extended leave of absence from the forums earlier this year so I don't know about Scott's where abouts, but from his Page it doesn't look like he's had much activity personally since February. Maybe David is the one to bug.

Maybe this is helpful:

  • A month or two back, I reported an issue (regarding my email) here on the forum and it was David who responded. So either the forum has multiple admins, or Scott handed over the reins to David (or both).
  • And similar to my case, its possible that this is a bug from Ning and they have to fix it.

Long story short, until the problem is fixed, it might be best to just use the search in the side bar, which IMO, gives decent search results.

Scott is working as far as I know. There are multiple admins so there's several people who can deal with a reported issue. I have never dealt with the Ning people before though, that's typically Scott's business.

We're also switching a lot of other forums over to discourse on the Rhino+Bongo+Flamingo+Developer+Brazil etc. side of things so I think Scott is busy there trying to keep things chugging along.
