Maximize the number of equal panels

Hi all,

How can I maximize the number of equal panels on a NURBS surface (any kind of panel, triangle, rectangle...)

Make them really, really small.

Without further details this question has no answer. And even with all the available details it may still have no answer.

I think the question is about making units that are duplicates. Like if you had a paneled surface where 90% of the panels had 2-3 duplicates it would be cheaper to manufacture, especially if a pattern or a jig was involved.

So given that a typical panel was roughly a given dimension, is there an optimization routine that brings panels within a given tolerance into a specific pattern. The differences would have to be made up somewhere... in unique pieces.

I'm guessing that is what he is after. I understand in theory, but don't have a script in mind.
