Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I'm trying to create 2 lists of cones being extruded to 2 separate points.  I've devided the list by 1/2 and am using a closest pt. component to sort them.  There is some overlap between the 2 and I can't figure out how to do something like pick n choose to put the overlapping cones in one list or the other, but not both.  I would also like to keep the division point parametric and driven by half of the list as opposed to manually picking which points extrude to which points.  Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Brian

That's pretty interesting. That's essentially what I want.  Can you explain the list item component in your file?  I'm having a little trouble understanding how the output is split up.  I see the final extrusion is grafted, i'm guessing that's where the list of circles is being split up.

I tried to explain it briefly in this image i hope it is clear. The trick is to understand branch structures in grasshopper, which took me also a couple of weeks playing around before i finally fully got it. Try to play around with this one, its a pretty basic def and is good for understanding this issue as it is key if you want to start making more complex defenitions.

Cheers!

i understand, thanks for the detailed explanation!
