a virtual dub question

I have some frames, that I want to stich to an animated gif.

now 3 of them I want let them be shown for a longer time and not just like the other 101 frames.

I tried to copy and paste each of these 3 frames 20 times, but virtualdub didn't bother with that. It took every frame of these three frames only once. Copying and pasting them didn't help that much ...

Is there a way I could let each of these three special frames, that I have got, stay for like 5 seconds on the video screen? ...

how to get this done? ... Thank you for the help and the advice in advance ... :)

For making animated GIFs (and ICO and CUR files), I use GIF Movie Gear.

I don't think VirtualDub can do gifs.

It can. All animated gifs I posted on this forum are done using VirtualDub, but it lacks some editing capabilities.

Here's the conundrum I face. Most things that get posted that have a complicated answer you choose to ignore. So if I go to the trouble of posting a solution that has taken time and effort on my part to come up with and you simple say na it's too tricky. You don't even ask for further explanation of the solution I post you simply dismiss it out right. Then really what is the point for me to post an answer in the first place.

I believe there is a solution to this problem in grasshopper, it is tricky, should i post it?
