algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello, I'm pretty new to grasshopper and I'm trying to build a diagrid system similar to this one: adaptive surface. I got a definition for a diagrid from Co-de-It and I've been trying to follow the steps in this tutorial. On step 11, I can't figure out how to apply the numbers corresponding to the attractor points in place of the distance numbers so that dependent of the distance from the point, the openings will get bigger or smaller.

Hi Leslie,
I can not open your file. But basically you need to use the distance from those two reference points to the centers of the diagrid panels, as input for scaling those panels. Then you subtract the scaled panels from their initial (larger) panels. And that results in panels with "holes". Take a look at the attached definition:
You will have to install the Lunchbox plugin for Grasshopper, in order for this definition to work.
Download the Lunchbox from here (click on "Download v0.35 Installer - October 14, 2012").
djordje,
can you show (def) with more attractor pts?
and maybe a def with crv attractor??
hi djordje,,
did you try lunchbox v0.35?
any idea, how to do this?

I am using the newest Lunchbox (0.35), but that does not matter when it comes to the photo you posted. It could be done with earlier versions of Lunchbox too.
There is no specific Lunchbox component which will make that pattern. The only thing it would help is to generate the triangles. Then the whole "catch" is to create that pattern inside of a triangle from lines, split the lines from the triangles and get surfaces. Then you could scale the surface edges (shrink them) and again split, but this time from the surfaces.
Sorry, but I do not have time to experiment with it.
Thank you for the solution.
Both of you.
Was not aware of the Quad subdivide component.
hi Erick Vásquez and djordje
I am trying to convert the diamond shape to the hexagon shape, but it works partly. can you give me any suggestions?
djordje-
For some reason it appears that my apertures are reversed compared to the image you posted. I've tried playing around with the parameters but can't find where to reverse the attractor. Is there a component I need to change in order to achieve this?
I posted a screen shot to explain what I am talking about.
