Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey guys

I created this project which I attached.

I want to create a tube where I can add a pattern onto a controllable segment.

It works nearly. I am able to create the pattern and to adjust it automatically to a chosen density. My problem is that the result it not one solid because the union functions does not work properly. How could I change the program to solve this problem. Additionally it takes ages to create the pattern if I choose a very high horizontal and vertical division number (maybe 150 hor. and 20 ver.). At first I tried it on my laptop and I thought it crashed but when I tried it on a better computer it just took maybe 15 min to create the whole object. Do not wonder about the low units the dimension is correct.

I hope you can help me.

Best regards

André

As you are working on the same pattern repeated on a regular shape, better do the pattern on one subsurface and copy it on rest of surface.

Example with 100x100:

10000 modules joined ok into 1 Brep

that looks fine how long did it take to calculate this brep by grasshopper not 15 min like my example?

It would be great if you could post the .gh file then I can have a look how it works.

30 seconds for 10000 (mostly from Brep Join)

Will take much more time (up to several minutes) to display, depending on your system performances.

I could not solve the problem till now does someone else have an idea?
