algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hey guys!
Im new to grasshopper and tried playing around a little and got stuck...
I am trying to make a simple rectangle grid with an atractor point, which I than want to orient on a surface.
When I manage to orient it on the surface it does really weird stuff! Way too many circles appear and there is no difference in circle radius clearly noticable anymore...
Anyone can advice me what to do?
thanks

hey! thanks for the reply! can I just ask you whats the name of the command after list item? Cause I dont seem to ahve that symbol... Im using GH 0.8.0010 because we dont have Rhino 5 yet here, so I cant download the newest GH yet...
The last version Rhino 4 used was 0.9.0014. You can download it from here.
You will need to install it too, if you intend to use the "partition list" component, which was introduced in 0.9+ version, so you do not have that one on your 0.8.0010.
Here are the names of the components:
wow thanks guys! Another question! How can I draw a square starting from a center point? I wanna make a random division of squares of different sizes on a rectangular surface. I make a grid but than optain only the corner points... I can find the center with the Brep area button, but I cant draw the squares starting from a center point...
thanks!
Attaching files is not working again.
Here are the files from the upper reply:

hey thanks a lot! The thing I want is more random. Here everything depends on the attractor. I really want to create a variety of squares, each one being different... Ill upload my definition soon, it will be clearer!
hey, ok my definitition is attached. I still have 2 problems... How can I rotate the polygons so they are parallel to the rectangle they are in? And now, the random squares are only random in one direction... In the x-direction they are all equal... How can I make every single square different?
Thanks!
I do not understand you.
Can you attach some sketch of what you want to do?
hey! Ok, I attached 2 files. The pdf is what is the easiest to achieve. This is just on a grid, from the center point different squares in both direction which are all randomly different in size.
The jpeg is what would be really amazing to achieve, which is a completely random division. As well the location as the size is random.
Than again, is it possible to create rectangles from the polygon command?
thanks!!
another thing. Can I make rectangular 4-sided polygon?
