Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Would it be at all possible to create an intersection using meshes? - Ideally a mesh and a curve?

GH does a great job meshing through 3D points to give really detailed terrain, and this mesh can then be contoured! But there appears no way of being able to make a mesh intersection either in Rhino of GH?

In the attached image, i'm using intersections so that i can measure a given point of the terrain from the construction plane - but to do so i have to patch a surface through the terrain points yielding a less accurate result. :(

Can it be done? Any pointers?

Thanks,

David.

You're in luck; the latest beta of gh includes a "mesh/Ray" intersection, which works as long as the curves you're using are linear, which it appears yours are from your image.
Thanks Andrew,

I've not started using 7 yet... I'll take a look today though. Appreciate the tip.

David.
Thanks for highlighting that. I hadn't noticed that new feature. As it happens, 95% of what I do with grasshopper is built off if information from intersecting lines and meshes, so that just saved me hours and hours of work.

neat.
