I must need Darwinian Selection myself...my brain cannot figure out where the Galapagos component is located in the layout bar. I look in the "Special" pulldown, in the Params Tab....not there. I look for anything in the "Extra" Tab....not there. I can't find it anywhere.

I tried installing the component in the "Components" folder with the other .gha assemblies....no luck.

I tried moving it to the "Components" folder located at /AppData/Roaming?Grasshopper/Libraries....no luck

The component is not blocked.

I am using 0.8.0050 in both R5 and R4 sr9 in Windows7 x64............

update....

Any definitions made by others that contain the galapagos component throw errors.

What sort of errors? If the Galapagos component is for some reason not loading, then it will neither appear on the ribbon, nor will files containing the object open correctly.

Hi Aaron,

so it looks like Grasshopper is just not loading Galapagos. You have a lot of GHA files in that folder (which is already a bad sign, there's a folder specifically for GHA files that ship with the product and a different folder specifically for extra GHA files.

What /could/ be happening is that one of the GHA files is causing problems during loading and as a result all the GHA files that aren't yet loaded are skipped. If this is the case you should be missing more components.

Are there error messages when you start Grasshopper?

ps. all non-standard GHA files should be in this folder:

C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Grasshopper\Libraries

although it may be different on different versions of Windows. You can open this folder via the Grasshopper->File->Special folders->Components folder menu.

Yes...that must have been the problem...reinstalled 0.8.0050, added all of the non-standard components to AppData directory, now all is good.
