Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi

Sorry for such a simple question.

Does Bending Resistance at Bend component refer to EI.

being

E: Young modulus of material

I: Moment of Inertia of the section.

In this case. May I add different bending resistances for different directions of stresses?

Thanks

I really hope that Daniel or someone else can shed some light on this question? How can we relate the numerical values to real material properties?

not at all, i'm afraid. resp., it is as far as i know very difficult and not a generic solution if it is done.

the reason is that kangaroo is a particle spring model, which, correctly parametrized can get near real-physical behaviour but from its mathematical background is not at all.

if you want real physical behaviour with youngs-modulus, cross-sections etc. you have to use an FE-solver, in case of grasshopper this is e.g. karamba karamba3d.com
