algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi Artyom,
It would indeed be possible to 'spherify' a mesh in Kangaroo in a few different ways.
It depends though on what other features of the mesh you want to preserve.
For a cube it is very easy, and could even be done without Kangaroo, just using projection.
However, some shapes do not project so easily without overlaps, so some smoothing or inflation might help. You could use length or bending springs to preserve some features of the mesh during this.
An ideal 'sphericalize' force would be Willmore flow, which is something I've been wanting to implement for some time, and I think it should be possible, it's just a bit more complicated...
Thanks Daniel,
finally achieved the spherifying effect, but,
I think I had some issues with Kangaroo simulation working in the latest grasshopper version, so I returned to the old, 0.8.0066, and everything worked fine, is it a known issue, or am I doing something wrong?
btw, Willmore flow looks like something very complicated to me)
p.s. posting the definition if someone needs it.
