At this exact moment gHowl doesn't connect to Excel, it only connects to OpenOffice Calc. So if you don't have OO Calc installed, then you probably won't be able to use the spreadsheet component. At the moment Luis and I are taking stock of both the Excel and OpenOffice connection to make it work more effectively and efficiently.
Open Office
Install that and let us know if you still have issues.
OK,I will give a try.

And thank you developers and the quick responds.:)
BTW, is there and special requirement on the version of OpenOffice Calc ? I am downloading V3.2.1 .I hope it's ok .Thanks.
Yea, that will be fine. I believe gHowl will require at least OO 2.x in order to work, but 3.2 should certainly work.

Hallo fellows,

This is my first post in this forum. I hope somebody can help me.
I m new in GHowl and i just tried to play a bit with it, but i have some difficulties.

I have this Excel sheet in OO 3.2 and i have this "DotNet VB script Legacy"component in Gh.
Unfortunatelly, nothing is linked and the output from my component is Null..

Also, I tried to download a ready file from some tutorial I found, but it s not working either.
Can anyone tell me what is going wrong?

Thank you in advance

gHowl no longer supports OpenOffice

So, I cannot link an Excel sheet with Gh?
Thank you for the reply :)

Sorry I read OO as openoffice.

To use the Spreadsheet Reader in gHowl you will need to link to an xlsx file and have the OpenXML engine installed.

Yeah yeah, I actually figured out how it s working. Thanks a lot for the replies
