hey guys,
i tried but y is it giving this kinda result? i closed the triangle with the same point, but the rectangular grid is not being mapped properly..i eman not as i wanted.. can i not map it in the way that is doesnt got to one end? instead it is perpendicular to the longest edge?
thank you for the sketch, now I see what you meant. This is an example of area trimming, not of mapping. Here is a definition using region intersection. Please open it in Grasshopper 0.6.0059, as in Grasshopper 0.7.0014 the region components do not work just yet.
I hope it helps,
- Giulio

hey giulio,
thank you.. i wanted exactly what u sent.. but i have one problem in that, can i get cells from the result like the 2nd image? i had the same problem with creating cells but i didnt get any suggestions on that.. i even tried to explode the brep and from vertices made a polyline, but didnt get to the result..can u please let me know abt it..
offsets in three dimensions work given a plane. Just supply the triangular polyline to the "P" input of the offset component. It will be automatically transformed into a plane and hopefully it will start working.
I hope this is helpful, otherwise could you please consider opening a new thread with this new subject? That way it will be easier for other people to find, too.
