Brep defined by outermost borders of geometrie

Dear all,

is that possible to make a max. brep that defined by outermost borders of geometrie like below?

So are we talking about closed breps clipping other breps. Closed breps clipping any geometry. Open breps clipping other breps or open breps clipping any geometry?

sorry david,

I just update my sketch. Its more clear now.

Its about how to get the maximum boundary on the basic of all of gaven geometry, and each line of the new boundary should be aligned to the gaven geometry which touched to the new boundary.

Try something like this. I'm extracting the edges of the convex hull that directly touch the geometry, extending them, and then using surface split to find the region bounded by their extension. It works for your sketched sample case, not sure it would work in every case.

Lovely solution.

hi andrew,

i put a question about the reverse-way-to-make-a-hyperbolic-paraboloid-surface:

i am so glad when u could have a look on this. thx!
