algorithmic modeling for Rhino
As Grasshopper is used in more and more curricula around the world, we felt it a good idea to provide a centralised forum for teachers and instructors to discuss methodology, course material, exam strategies etc.
If you're not teaching Grasshopper this forum is probably not for you.

Good idea David!
I may be in charge of a GH course in my former school next year and I was working on that right know!
One of the biggest issue I had when presenting grasshopper was language. Is there any chance of the UI being translated? I'd be glad to do it in French if it helps, but how should it be formatted?
Cheers,
Fred
Actually the idea was Sander Mulder's, he teaches a course at TUDelft.
Grasshopper does not support localisation in any way at present. In fact, a lot of the text on screen is algorithmically generated and has English language rules build in.
It would be relatively feasible to provide local dictionaries for strings in components, parameters and menu items, but tooltips and Panels would be much harder. I must say that this will probably not be a priority for Grasshopper 1.0

Nice idea, will post from time to time here!
I am a student. I still wish on this forum to learn, and read interesting articles
Thanks!
Nice!, I was thinking today about this forum topic teaching in a workshop: could be great to share teaching methodology, exam strategies, etc. The meta-learning forum: learning and sharing in community how to teach and share knowledge :D
Oh..... what a nice idea.. It would be great to elaborate on what is the most efficient way to present to students complex GH notions, such as data trees, even with simple analogical examples.
This is the great deal teaching GH: data trees logic. Because people needs to understand the concept really well to be able to produce their own original material.
Tomorrow I'll teach a little about box morphing workflow at SmartEnvelopes workshop. Not too much data tree problems but we will fight with boolean logic a little bit.
I am not a teacher, but a Grasshopper beginner, but I agree on last two replies.
Data flow, and data trees logic is something that still confuses me.
The rest can be learned.
good topic idea
Perfect. Thank you.
