algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Probably the installer shoud be more customizable in order to avoid autoinstalling it on every instance of grasshopper.
I have grashopper installed for rhino4 32bits and Rhino 5 beta 64 bits and installing SDR shows me an error on grasshopper in rhino 5Beta64bits.
I can't tell installer not to install sdr in the 64 bits version of Rhino.
Just a minor detail from a newbie.

Hi Alejandro,
I understand the concern and frustration. There's been the slightly awkward situation of Rhino v4 the official version supported but with Rhino v5 expecting to ship "just around the corner". As I type this I have no idea if v5 will ship next month or next year, but I will take a look again at the installer and see if there is some changes I can make. V5 will permit a specific installer that should also perhaps enable auto updating.
The main reason I didn't offer an install location option in the past was that many plugins share files so not offering the option (and placing it in a sub folder of v4) ensured this. You can duplicate (copy and paste) the folder to another location if you wish without running the installer.
On my own computer, I simply load Grasshopper and my own plugins from the Rhino v4 folder. Is there a reason why Grasshopper needs to be installed twice on your computer? Also, I'm under the impression there is only one instance of Grasshopper setting files, so that if a plugin path is set to load in v4, it will also load in v5 meaning if you duplicate components they will be attempted to load twice?
There's one other problem with the installer. It will write to either 32 bit or 64 bit registry depending on your computer, so the plugin can't instruct Rhino v5 32 bit to load if you're running both on a 64 bit system.
Let me know about why you need to install twice, and I'll give some further thoughts and feedback.
Note some of the steps are outlined at http://www.geometrygym.com/installing if you haven't seen this page.
Jon:
Thanks again for your answer...
I've unistalled everything and reinstalled all as it was suposed to be done.
I was chatting with the guys of McNeel, and we have concluded that maybe something is wrong.. I'm not sure what could it be but they suggested to work together on this..
I would like to help, I can do testing and newbie things...
I pasted a fragment of our chat with scott:
.......
Scott: Just remind him that you still are having the problem and that the guys ant McNeel would like to help also if he would like some help with it.
........
Just tell me what should I do to help on this.
Regards Alejandro
I will try and do a diagnostic build of the plugin for you Alejandro. This is a really weird situation that the IFC loads fine, but StructDrawRhino doesn't. The differences in terms of dependendencies is negligible. And the loading issues are always much harder to trouble shoot than say a repeatable crash.
I can't do the diagnostic today, but if you email me again early in the week I'll do my best to help. Very strange that this error seems isolated only to your computer.
Cheers,
Jon
