Retrieve Tree Branch returns new tree structure...

Is there any way to retrieve specific branches without altering the branch structure?

eg, in example below, shouldn't the return be a tree structure with {0;1} {0;9} {0;13}?

the usefulness of this is to keep track of specific sets of data/geometry within specific branches and then be able to access them when needed (ie, feels more like a database...)
