Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I am currently working on a script that will generate rocks of random sizes and shapes.

Eventually they will be packed to create a 3D volume.

The script must be able to control the number of sides and sizes. The rocks must be angular, have no less than 6 sides. I have tried a random field with voronoi, editing a polygon, and the proximity tool on a grid of points.

I have been drawing my own, but now I need a script that will create its own, (many at a time).

Eventually I will take the 2D rocks and extrude and mesh them to create 3D rocks and then edit the control points on the faces.

If anyone has suggestions on how to do this using only rhino and grasshopper, please send a script. I have not been using the program long enough to understand a long paragraph

I'm bumping quite an old discussion.

I wonder if anyone has developed such an algorithm for random rock generation.

Kind regards,

Theodore.

I am bumping this one again - has anyone managed to develop this?

Best,

Ralph
