Contour lines

Hi,

I am trying to project some lines on to a surface, to obtain contour line on the surface,
But i dont know where the mistake is,. Only some part is being projected with the lines,
Could anyone please check the files and let me know

i've never had much luck with the [project] component. here's another way you could do it...

basically, just use brep-plane intersect instead of project, and intersect your surface with a series of horizontal planes.

I don't think Project is really meant to perform an operation like this. As you'll notice, projecting doesn't work as 'expected' when the resulting projection requires multiple curves.

Like Evan said you should use some form of intersection. Either create planes (the preferred solution for Contour lines), or extrude the lines and intersect the surfaces. The latter approach is more flexible since it allows for non-planar sections, but you have to make sure the slicing surfaces big enough to ensure a complete intersection.

It worked pretty well, but it was thrown together pretty quickly and setup for a specific purpose.
