algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Image Sampler for analyze urban pictures.

Based on an Aerial Image, i want to do something like this (Sample.jpg),

i was trying with the Image Sample Component but y can just replicate the samples that appears in the forum, i can control it very well, for my own purposes,  i want to change the Circle Based examples for Rectangles, and control a kind of Threshold like in Adobe Illustrator with the Live Trace tool. 

In illustrator i can do something with the Live Trace, but i want to do this in GH, anyone have and idea from were i have to start it.
