Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I'm using some simple trig to evaluate angles but can't seem to grasp what I'm doing wrong. I'm starting with the opposite and adjacent sides of a triangle to find an angle, opposite=1 adjacent=5.

So: tanθ=opposite/adjacent; to solve for the angle, cot(opposite/adjacent)=θ

In this case the cot(1/5)=11.3. True.

There doesn't seem to be the right components for this and the results from using a function don't add up. I can't seem to replicate this outcome in grasshopper... What am I missing?

Hello,

Those two methods do the same thing.

Great! I stumbled into a slightly clunkier solution using components (too many really) or (rad(x/y)) in the formula. These are very helpful, thanks!
