algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi
I've made 3 simple definitions for "Extrude tapered" issue.
Somehow the first one, based on extrude with OFFSET (curve with specified distance) component, acts strange - see image attached. It happens only when angle values are positive.
Where is the problem?
Thanks
Piotr
PS Draw any rectangle and assign to the definition.

Thanks for your reply. It still doesn't answer the question: why the simplified offset curve has a 5 control points while the original has only 4?
Loose offset gives a good results.

Not acceptable with my obsessive attention to precision :-)
I can understand, I got the same condition:)
I now made it a tiny bit more accurate;) :
Thanks. I will put it through inspection :-)

What exactly is your goal? Do all the offset option have to work (sharp, round, smooth, chamfer), or it it just one option, if so which one(s)?
If you just want the corners to be sharp, try the attachment.
(offsetting to the outside creates extra pts, to the inside not, so I tried to avoid the offset, or rather make my own way of offsetting (a rectangle))
Hi that last definition was great!
How to you apply that to several curves?
I've tried referencing in several curves, and then just explode everywhere..
Thanks, it works really well,
Except I would like it to taper to a line, basically /\ So its more like a normal roof.
As it is i've fudged it, so that there's a middle value for the height and angle where they all kinda look like there working.
