DATA FLOW THROUGH - One thing that would be very helpful is to create a way to disable a component yet allow the information to pass on through to keep the algorithm feeding down stream components.  This would allow you to toggle a function on and off without rewiring.  Which would work the best when the input data type of the component is the same as the data output type, particularly true for the xform components.  This variation on the disable/enable would allow for very efficient study on multiple transformations....Been using GH for a few short months so I may be missing another way of doing same.  Is there another way?

EXTREME MOUSE MANUVERS The other thing I continually need is an easy way to wire components that are far enough apart to require zooming.  All I have figured out to do is to hold the left mouse click/drag with my index finger while middle wheeling the mouse (zooming) with my other finger.  Although this works, it is asking for extreme finger coordination with my right hand while my left hand is doing nothing except warming the home row keys.  Surely there would be a way to use the ALT key to effectively do the job of holding the left mouse button to allow for zooming without dropping the wire.  Or is there an easy way to do this that I just haven't discovered yet?

Thanks for passing along easier ways to perform these wishes.

Stan,

Re DATA FLOW THROUGH, have you tried Dispatch? It requires Dispatch and a Boolean Toggle, but it sounds (more or less) like what you're asking for.

Re EXTREME MOUSE MANUVERS, best suggestion I have for that is to use geometry or primative containers spaced every so often as a repeater. Others may have (better) suggestions on this too...

Taz,

Thanks for the dispatch tip. That should work just fine.

The issue with data flowing through is that in most cases, the component outputs data in a different format from how it comes in...often there are more than one input...how should component decide which elements to pass through? What Taz suggests is a good workaround to this.

For your second issue...have you used wireless components? You still have to move them into position, but once they are there, they are there...in any case, I agree that there should be some key combo which allows this.
Luis,

Good point on the different inputs vs outputs. When I was working with this I was using mostly xform components and they usually stay the same. Maybe a switch could be incorporated when the components that have same inputs and outputs formats.

I appreciate your support on the key combo thought. The wireless components do work to some extent but could work even better if the wireless component, the entire connecting wire, and the referenced component would highlight all together.

Thanks again for the help.

In some Software Music Recording They have a simple switch On-Off-ByPass all in one!
That would be great indeed.
