Hi guys, i've only started playing around with grasshopper a few weeks ago - so bare over with me :)
Basically i'm doing a school project. My definition is based on manipulating the topology of a grid of points with attractor points - this works fine :)
Secondly i've gone through lift-architects' waffle system definition, and that also works well.
Now, a new challenge emerges :)
The wood panels we're going to mill, arent bigger than 240mmx120mm - so basically the struts i want to cut, cant fit onto the panels.(Check jpeg) So what i have to do is somehow dissect(yellow lines) the whole structure(with the waffle system applied ofcourse) and make smaller pieces(Check red circles). After this i have to make some kind of a puzzle(Check puzzle jpeg), so i can assemble the pieces again.
So my question is, how do i approach this? Im thinking of intersecting the whole structure with planes, move them apart, and then find the the regions of intersections, and somehow draw a puzzle-system onto the respective (intersected)struts.
Any help would be appreciated :)
Thank a bunch!
