Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi:

I'm new in grasshopper, and here I get a dilemma...Is there anyone can give me any clues?

I want to connect all the "0" points, and the "1" points, and then "2", "3"...

also, I need a connection between the last "0" point and the first "1" point, also the last "1" point and the first "2" point and ....

Here is Rhino 4.0 document!

Hi,

I'm not confident I've understood what you need to achieve, but I'll post this and see if this looks helpful.

I developed a component in StructDrawRhino to connect points in relative positions in adjacent branches (lists) of points.  I've attached an example to generate purlins on a radial stadium roof grid.  There is an input to toggle the wrap (or joining of last point in set with first point).

I'm happy to advise further if you think it might help, StructDrawRhino installation is outlined here:

Cheers,

Jon

Hi Jon:

Thanks for your quick reply and help! But the connection in my project is more complicated.

In general, I have 4 branches,

the 1th has "n" points,

and the 2th has "4n" points,

while the 3th has various number of points which depends on the arrangement of points in the 1th line, if those points arrange as one line, the 3th has "2n+2" points...

and as to the 4th branch, it just the same as the 2th---"2n" points.

All I want is to connect points from the 1th branch to the 4th branch one by one nearest, and then make them to be a space net.

you can see my rhino document, in the rhino document, I manually make it.

In grasshopper, I just think maybe "sub list" can help me further divide the branches which now are all "0", but I haven't figure out how to use it. And I know VB can sole my problem. But I also don't know how to write script...

Am I clear know? Anyway, thank you very much !!!

Sincerely

Jane

Sorry, the last sentence should be " Am I clear now?"~~ha~

And that what I want to make:

This is made manually in Rhino,

one component:

combination:

But in fact, in my project, the connection should be smooth, so it can not be one by one component thing. I'm trying to use grid to define the control lines, and then loft them.
