algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey, new to GH and Rhino so I apologize if this is obvious. I've got a script that plots points of an Enneper surface and uses Surface From Points to build the surface itself. There's a bit of discontinuity with it though: a crease shows up along the first arm of points.

Any way to fix this? I interpreted lines through the arms and lofted them, giving me what I want. But I was wondering if there's a solution involving Surface From Points or something akin to that.

Hi Mark,

relax, that's just the display mesh. The surface is fine but I use a very coarse mesh representation to speed up solution time. Bake the shape and it should look better in Rhino.

I think the crease effect Mark is talking about is this:

Probably because SurfFromPoints doesnt take into account that the surface can be closed, like Loft does.

Yeah, my bad.

That's the cause I also suspect. Seems like there isn't any option to toggle that, though.

Hmm, tricky. I can periodicize a surface easily enough, but it quite drastically changes the shape. Creating a periodic surface through those control-points will require a lot of knot-vector magic or maybe there's a function I missed somewhere.

At any rate, I have no immediate solution for this.

Hi.

Sorry for necroposting...

Any solution for this?

Hi Friends

I think that  , to overcome the problem ,
there are three possible soluzionii to build the surface
starting from your points ...
The simplest would say that is convert the points ordered in
Mesh and then  , use the points ,of the latter , to create the surface;
or use the points in u, and v, to build
a loft area-
