Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Starting from an icosahedron, I divided each face into a regular pattern of triangles with weaverbird and then projected the new vertices onto the surface of the sphere. This process is valid?
Any consideration is appreciated

I haven't looked at your definition but you describe the correct method.

Hi Massimiliano,

Thank you for your definition. Looks very nice, but doesn’t seem to work properly with the latest components Please can you update your definition?

hi Paul

I opened the file with  rhino4 and grasshopper 0.8.0066 and it seems to work fine. You make sure you've installed the latest release of uto's meshedit and the latest weaverbird perhaps this is the problem.

does not work

Hi.

This one is an updated & simplified def. Check attached.

I've done something like that a long time ago, but from the basic icosahedron vertices I traced arcs linking vertices (following the circumscribed sphere) and divided the arcs, not the lines connecting the vertices...
Doing this way you will get less variations in the size of bars...

Sorry, haven't found my old file, though...
