Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Dear all,

I need some help with a surface pinching action for my project.

I am intending to explore forms by pinching upwards and downwards, something like a minimal surface action but i cant seem to get the radius of influence right for a smooth pinch.

I am looking for a command that allows me to play with the pinching radius and intensity of pinch reflected in the height.

any form of suggestion or links would be helpful!! i've been exploring stuffs on minimal surface but remain very confused.

Thank you very much!!

The graph mapper is pretty useful for this:

Hi there,

Thanks for the reply. I've reach another dillemma if you could be kind enough to advise me on it.

As you can see from the series of points, is there anyway to turn it into a surface using the points? or any advise how can i manipulate a surface in a similar way

Thank you.

If you keep the data structure from the Divide Surface component, you have rows of points. Simply make curves from these rows, then loft the curves.

o...do i use the surface grid too? i read it somewhere concerning an expression of U+1 for it to work...but cant seem to make it work on this.

How do i check if i have the same data structure as the outcome of divide surface component?

Thank you.

Regards,

Barry

Thank you so much systemig. Thanks to you I manage to achieve the result.
