Exception after upgrade... Can't bake

Hi all,

having some issues baking after the upgrade to 8.005 (was on 8.001 before). I get the following after trying to bake (any) geometry:

"Exception occured during processing of command:

GrasshopperBake

Method not found: 'BooleanRhino.DocObjects.ObjectAttributes.SetDisplayModeOverride

(Rhino.Display.DisplaymodeDescription)

Stack trace:

at Grasshopper.GUI.GH_RhAttributesEditor.GetAttributes()

at Grasshopper.Plugin.Commands.Run_Grasshopperbake() in

C:\de\Grasshopper\1.0\root\src\GH_GrasshopperCommands.vb:line 362

and it goes on. Any ideas?

Hi Sean,

you doing this in Rhino4 or Rhino5?

The error you're getting means that function (SetDisplayModeOverride) doesn't exist in the Rhino SDK. When Grasshopper runs on Rhino4 it ships with a custom SDK that should always be synced up, but when running on Rhino5 is has to use Rhino's SDK. If your Rhino5 version is very old, then this method might not exist there yet.

If you're getting this on Rhino4 though, then I think the installation didn't succeed in replacing all dlls. Which is very weird but some people were having similar issues with another Grasshopper dll a few days ago.

I'm using Rhino 5 so it must be related to an older version.... mine is a release from March, I suppose it's time to upgrade. For the time being, will saving as a .ghx and opening the definition in 8.001 transfer over well? (.gh extension is from the most recent upgrade, correct?)

GH and GHX have always been there. I just changed the default format from GHX to GH in 0.8.0050.

You won't be able to save a file -any file- with a version post 0.8.0050 and open it on a previous version. File format compatibility is strictly backwards across the 0.8.0050 boundary.
