algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I tried to play a little bit with optimization (minimazing) of the deflection, the way you did with galapagos. Worked perfectly although it took me some 20 hours to complete the galapagos calculation.
Is there any other way of optimizing structures, using Karamba? Except for minimizing the maximum disposition of nodes?

Thank you for the reply Joshua.
I did not find any literature regarding the "BESO designer" component from Karamba.
Karamba 0.9.7. goes without any manual or text file, only an installation .exe file.
What did you mean, when you said TopOpt? This:

Look I will be honest, BESO is a tough thing to get started in. You might benefit from using RMIT's BESO2D unit: http://isg.rmit.edu.au/downloads.html
Karamba has a pretty good manual on their website, http://twl.uni-ak.ac.at/karamba/download/karamba_manual_0.9.07.pdf which has an introduction to BESO in it I am pretty sure.
Joshua, I understand what you told me.
But 2d optimization is not what I am looking for. But 3d. I will try to do my best to understand the 3d one.
You were right, there is a part in the karamba 0.9.07 manual, which talks about BESO component.
But are there any practical examples of what this component can do? A video, or maybe at least a screenshot?
My suggestion would be to use the 2D model first and learn what the various components mean. BESO is pretty complicated and jumping straight into 3D means you will probably not get the kinds of results you want.
BESO also has a Rhino plugin from the same website which might also be a good place to start. It has an incredibly steep learning curve but once learnt will help you understand how to use it further.
Joshua, when you say "BESO also has a Rhino plugin", you meant the BESO Karamba ?
This component has only 2 pages of explanation in:
The http://twl.uni-ak.ac.at/karamba/download/karamba_manual_0.9.07.pdf
I guess that is not enough for any kind of learning.
