Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey guys, just letting you know we've created version 2 of Genoform, now with its own grasshopper components.

We've created two new sliders that work with Genoform.

Jump over to www.genoform.com to download the software and the component file.

You can download the latest version of Grasshopper for Rhino 4 too.
after downloading the component from this thread, everything is gravy!

I download the two files from the page, install the two exes and the gh component and everything seems working fine... rhino 4 sr8 + latest grasshopper.

the program looks like a more practical "galapagos"?

well, maybe tomorrow i play a little with it...

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for providing such a great plug-in.

I have a question on opening excel at [Explore]tab.

I was wondering how it works if i bring in data written on excel.

But I'm having a trouble and getting an error message in importing any excel file.

FYI, other than this issue works just great on my computer and setting.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Hey Leehong.
Use the Save All with the Excel box ticked. That will save an excel file in the same directory of the file. If you open and edit that excel document, and keep its name, you can open that into Genoform.

Hi,

I have a problem after installing Genoform too.

(in the bottom you can find the whole error text)

I installed also all other needed software and it worked.

But for some other reasons I needed to reinstall windows on my PC and now I get this error messages and if I ignore this messages and run Genoform it always stops after the first generated design and shows this error messages again.

(I also installed all needed software before)

Does anyone has a idea how I can get Genoform working?

Best,

Martin.

Hey Martin,

Try save your grasshopper file as a different name and then run genoform again. That error appears when genoform tries to access a picture it has already created, but cannot find. If that doesn't work, let me know.

Hi Andrew,

I renamed the file now 3 times but it's everytime the same problem.

Do you have another idea?

Best,

Martin.

I'll need to talk to our software engineer, I'll let you know what he says.
Ok. Thank's for your efforts.

Hi Andrew,

did know already what's the error about and how I can fix it?

Best,

Martin.

Hi Andrew, I can't get Genoform to run on my Windows 7 64 bit machine. When I launch the program I briefly see a small Genoform splash screen, followed by this error message:

Needless to say it doesn't notify me of a solution!

I've checked that windows is up to date via the windows update function. I've got dot net framework 4 installed. I've tried running Genoform in XP Compatability mode, but get the same error. Any idea why it won't launch?

Thanks.
