Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hello all,

i'm quite a new both for this forum and grasshopper, even with some experiences with rhinoscript. i'm now testing the grasshopper's ability compared with scripting.

So, i have a basic question. How can we extract an edge curve from a surface ? it's sometimes necessary to make shells from complex surfaces to compensate offset commands. i know this could be solved with making such curves before making surfaces, but if it's possible, it should be useful. while the rhinoscript has much more useful commands to deal with such problems, the grasshopper seems to be demanding us with some devised ways.

probably, this might be too basic, but i would be happy if somebody taught me your knowledges.

thanks in advance,

Hi Yukio,

you can explode a BRep into the parts that define it. Faces, Edges and Vertices. Does that do what you need?

Hi David,

thank you very much for your quick reply. I now got it since i couldn't find out that until now, "Explode". Maybe, it's been caused by its "burning" icon or the category, "analysis", which might be suitable for "utility", i think.

anyway, now i can be released from tiresome works, since stupidly i had gone back to first definitions of surfaces at each time!

Many thanks, David!!!
