option for viewing only "Locally defined values"? (from rhino)

Hello everyone,

is there a way (a view option or search condition) to see only the locally defined values?

meaning only the curves i rely on from rhino in my definition? (or points, surfaces etc..)

thanks a lot

amir

(what i want to do is just highlight those for future use - so it'll be easier to find where i'm supposed to insert new or altered values for the definition to work..)

anyone? ideas?

You could use the Preview Selected function in Grasshopper. Simply select the components you wish to see (make sure Preview is enabled for these) and then toggle to highlighted Icon. If you're using an older version it will be on the drop down menu from the preview toolbar.

thanks for your reply danny

but i'm aware of that feature.

what i mean is i have a huge definition and have a hard time locating all the curves and points i've manually inserted from rhino to create the geometry in GH.

i was thinking like a view filter or a search function to look only for those you've highlighted in the GH file

So what you are talking about is highlighting the object on the Canvas not seeing it in Rhino. Is this correct?

If so then there isn't a one-click function like this at the moment. But you can do something along these lines with a bit of discipline. If you added a keyword to the Params that you reference geometry in Rhino with, then you could use the search feature, middle mouse button magnifying glass or F3.

Or you could group, ctrl+G, every individual component and change its colour from the norm, very tedious.

You could rebuild them in GH by their "point coordinates" and keep them in GH for good if you don't need to move them around or modify them. I do that a lot to make my definitions as "Portable" as possible.

thanks for your suggestions guys !

appreciate it.

obviosly i haven't named them "input" and was hoping for a magical "select rhino input" or something.. but i guess i'll go and rename them..

:)
