sure, just request the data.

but you need the geometry which you used to send to ecotect to save the data or just use panel to save the data

It is not possible to request the geometry from ecotect

Is there a simple way to do an energy analysis with Geco in Ecotect and have it return an energy value like watts per month for heating and cooling? I am trying to use Geco to run several energy simulations to test different types of windows in a residential home.

Hi Bryce,

sorry creating zones and calculate heating and cooling is not yet supported from within Geco.

But if you can write Lua code you can use our custom Lua Component to write something on your own.

We will add it maybe in the future, sorry for now

I figured that would be the case. I am not familiar with Lua code so I am not sure what I will be able to achieve but if I get something running I will post my results.

Thank you for your quick reply,

Bryce

You are welcome,

hopefully we can add something for future releases

Hi!

I am not sure this is the correct place to ask - but here goes!

I have no problem getting results from Ecotect and have made some different test with some quad panel openings. But now i want to create another surface tessellation (like Voronoi), and therefore i am trying to get random placed points with the results from ecotect as attractors for random placed points on a cone.

Is this posible?

Hope someone can help me with this little problem! :)

Hello Thomas,

I am doing some solar radiation studies. If i don't have the weather file for an specific location, is it possible to input Coordinates of a place?

Hi Galo,

sure it is

test this def below

Hello Thomas,

For Sun radiation request, is there a way to import from Grasshopper two kinds of geometry, one kind to analyze and other kind to provide the site? (so it only provides the environment for shadows and is not taken in consideration radiation)

cheers

Didn't you remember,..... just use two mesh-export components and change the "N" input to handele export different.

Hey to],

The result in Rhino is different than the result i got in Ecotect, what is the issue here, is it the vectors? If yes, then how can i direct them towards the sky?

Thanks in advance

-Khizer

Resolved :D ...

Use Mesh Union and even if that is not working, check the RGB tree in Object Request, use Path Mapper to resolve tree branching
