Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Due to an annoying bug in 0.8.0012, a small update is now available for download from the usual space. For more details, see the release page of 0.8.0012.

Changes since 0.8.0012:

  • Added Data limit to the recorder object.
  • Fixed a typo in the CurvatureGraph component.
  • ValueList would not show the active value, this is fixed.

Great! Hopefully there is no other annoying bug!

Thanks a lot, David!

Oh there'll be plenty. Just hope not annoying enough.

David,

The image below appears to be a slider issue rather than a recorder issue.  I noticed this behavior awhile ago when I was streaming slider values to a text file through VB.  I get similar duplicate entries when I use a slider to write entries to a database.

The behavior is:

1.  When data is entered into a slider, duplicate values are recorded.

2.  When you slide the slider, the last value is duplicated.

Any reason?

-Nathan

Yeah I noticed it as well while testing the recording. I'm clearly raising too many events somewhere. I'll see if there's a nice fix or whether I should never update the slider if the new value is the same as the old one.

 64bit WIP

thanks

Thanks !!

Thanks!

Hi!

So I have a little problem now...

There is no available version compatible with Rhino4Eval anymore?

Unadvertedly I installed GH 0.8.0013 and there is no way back I assume...

As a non-commercial customer for Rhino I can not access to Rhino5, but GH doesn't work for me anymore...

Any suggestions please?

Grasshopper is meant to be an important part of my research on Numerical Methods for engineering in the near future and I plan to develop some components for GH that allow for combining different analysis methods...:(

Should I go back to my research in dirty old C++?

Thanks in advance

Ra

Edit:

Ep!!

Seems that Mr Rutten already had an answer to my question:

Thanks again!

Thank you David:)

A "Grasshopper running on dotnet 2.0" message appears in the commmand prompt when grasshopper is loading, after installing 0.8.0013 version.

Is the latest 0.8.0013 version forced running on dotnet 2.0 on Rhino4 sr-8?

Ian,

yes it seems to be. I myself have 2.0, 3.5 and 4.0 installed but Rhino4 seems to insist to load 2.0. It doesn't seem to matter though as code that requires 3.5 runs fine, provided 3.5 has been installed. I'm still inquiring as to the exact mechanism involved here.

Update: I'm reporting the CLR version, which apparently is 2.0 for all .NET versions between and including 2.0 and 3.5. Bit of a marketing/development miscommunication c*ckup if you ask me.

But until I add smarter version checking, don't trust that startup message.
