Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi guys,

I've been searching for a long while about how to run Voronoi 3D and QHull in windows 7 64 bits, but I think it is not possible for the moment, right?

My mean problem is I cannot run QHull to installing it in my computer, and without it, of course, I cannot work with voronoi 3D.

Does somebody know or run it without problems?

Thank you very much in advance!

I'm running windows 7 64 bits, with no trouble running qhull via dimitrie's definition available here: http://improved.ro/blog/2011/06/gh-3d-voronoi-for-grasshopper-update/. I've referenced it to qhull 2011.1 available here: http://www.qhull.org/download/.

MAKE A VIDEO TUT PLZ !!!!
well i have the same problem but dont know what to do

you don't have to install anything from qhull. just unzip to a folder of your lovely choice - folder which subsequently becomes the rather confusingly-named "installation folder". that should clear things up a bit. if you still have problems, take care, you might need to "unblock" (right-click, go to permissions, and fiddle with the things there) the unzipped folder.

ok! I did it, and then I've changed the scriptable component (line 101) qhull voronoi for my path>>>> "C:\Program Files (x86)\qhull-2011.1\bin\qhull.exe"  It seems right...

and now?

There is still a red block, I'm sure this is easy to solve and I'm quite stupid, but this is the first time I'm running voronoi3D.

sorry and thanks again!

uuuhh. can you tell me what the branch thingie says about being red? it might be that the tree structure going in the branch component is a fucked, therefore the error.

which gh version are you using? i didn't try it with the latest, so it might be it. it's weird. anyway you should actually see some cells anyway already... by the look of the grey/red/orange combination you have on you canvas.

as well, this might be a bit off, but try moving the qhull folder to somewhere else besides critical windows folders (like program files). it might not have anything to do with it, but still. I know you need all sorts of extra permissions etc.

well...

i've tested it with the the qhull folder inside program files... still worked.

installed the latest gh... and it worked as well.

you can maybe send me the gh def + rhino file and i'll look into it if i have the time.

Hi Dimitrie,

First of all thanks for your patience  :)

The reason of the red error is: "Path (everyone) does not exist within this tree"

I am running the 0.8.0010 GH version, but I think this is not the problem!

Finally, I've tryed to change the qhull folder to other destination and everything remains the same.

thanks again!!

Here you are the files!!

Simple fix - rather than referencing qhull.exe in the scripting component, reference qvoronoi specifically.
