Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I'm wondering if Sliders could make a GH file slower. I have a lot of Sliders which not necessary have to change its value. Is it possible that if I change all the sliders for integer or panel the file will be quickier?

PS: when I say slow or quick I mean the possibility of working within the file. The movement are hard and slow inside the program.

thanks in advance!

Hi Chichi,

can you post a file that displays too slowly? I've been given these before and usually I'm able to find the bottleneck and make it faster.

Hi David!!

wowww you've discovered how people call me >> chichi!! hehehe...

Thanks for your help. For instance, the file could be really weird but I'll send you!!

there you are!!

If you've got the compass widget enabled, switch it off. If not, I'll have to look into the display code more deeply. The compass for some reason takes longer to draw than all the components. I've been meaning to rewrite it but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Another big slow-down is the display of wires. That needs to get optimized soon as well.

But thanks for the file, this will be a great help when profiling the display code.

thanks David!!

I've switched off the compass and the "fancy wires" they were the things which made the display a little bit slower!! Now is extremly better!

thanks again!!
