algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I'm very new to GH, so I hope this question makes sense. I made a magnetic displacement field with a number of attractor and displacement points. I wanted to attach an object on each point in the field. However I wanted to be able to differentiate which object gets attached to a point based on distance from that central point. Also, i would be open to any other suggestions on rules that could differentiate the orientation or dimension of an object based on distance from the central point.

Thank you!

You'd have to post a screenshot to help describe what you are doing.

If you're looking at magnetic fields you might be interested in JellyFish by Daniel Piker of the Space Symmetry Structure blog.

Hi Taz,

Thanks. I actually already have a magnetic field working the way I want it to. I just want to be able to place an object at each point thats been created from the surrounding scatter field. I want to divide the points up based on their distance to the central point then set an object type to them. I'll try to upload a screen shot.

use the distance between two points component. then, use the sort component and co-sort the feild points to order them by distance from the center point.

Thanks! it worked out perfectly.
