algorithmic modeling for Rhino

 

 

Hi every one.

 

Should be an easy one for you all,

 

I've Been doing a few tutorials on point adaptation, and have played around a bit with them creating my own expressions. However I am finding it hard to realise this one . . .

 

If you take this as a base expressions (Point adaptationmk3) , what I'm trying to do is to allow a number of points to influence the length of the lines, and create the end aesthetic. Sounds simple to me, but I can't get my head around what I'm doing wrong.

 

Would really appreciate any input on this.

Thanks for the post DeDackel, It was really helpful.

 

I Had a look and moved on a fair amount. however I am having trouble securing an aesthetic that doesnt need adapting at every input along my expression, when I only want to change one or two things.

 

I think the problems are starting because I am now working to  repel extruded  lines to create  a surface that can be related to cnc. With this in mind I am finding it hard with this expression to have complete control over all aspects of the geometries, i.e. The height should be a maximum, an not toally dissapear or go beyond a certain point.

 

Here is my expression so far, I have attached the Ghx aswell. and here is the kind of finished aesthetic I'm trying to create. I modelled this purely in Rhino.

 

 Maybe I am going about this the wrong way, its just the idea of repelling certain parts of  a surface was appealing, rather than just creating random surfaces.

 

As always, any input is gratefully recieved.
