algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Does anyone have experience with the rendering of vertex colors in vray for maya?

Does Vray support vertex colour shaders? If not, you'r screwed, unless you can translate your vertex colour space into a texture, which is -at least in theory- possible for some topologies. I know VRML supports vertex colours, so that would be a good way of getting the mesh across intact.

I think Brazil for Rhino has this option as I requested it in the past.

You might want to look at Vicente Soler's solution to this problem.

now i have figured out how to render vertex color with mental ray in maya,

but not in vray for maya. i need more time...

PICT_01_Grasshopper definition

02_Export as fbx

03_Import fbx file in Maya

04_Choose mental ray as render engine

05_Create mentalrayVertexColor in Hypershade

06_Assign a new lambert material to the geometry

07_Connect mentalrayVertexColor to Lambert color

08_Connect MeshesColorperVertexSet to mental rays ColorVertex Node

09_Render

for example there is a vertex color vray mat map in 3ds max vray just for this...
with vray similar like the discription above!
