I'm sorry but I don't use rhino on the mac. But in the windows version if you click in the white space using the right mouse button you get a context menu with 'New Layer' on. I think you can do this whilst holding down ctrl and clicking on the mac.
What does the Plus sign at the bottom of the layers window?
ummm...thank you but i didnt mean creating a new layer. ( the plus sign means create a new layer)
i mean separate the curve and lofting surface into different layers=].
i saw the tutorial for windows that if you loft a model, there should be different layers already and i just need to press a button to separate different layers , but for mac..as the document i attached, i seems like i only got one layers there >< ..
Sorry misunderstanding. I've not seen that before, as far as I know the Windows version has the ability to right click on a layer and place the selected objects on that layer. Any object no matter what type will be created on the current layer (is that what the Blue Dot represents?).
Typically what I would do is create your New layers > Name them> In Rhino Command pane type SelCrv > then in Layers Window Right Click CrvsLayer and Select Change Object Layer.
Then do the same with Srfs using the Command SelSrf
