Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hi!

i was thinking if there is someone interested to organize a meeting in Berlin?.

i don't see too much activity in this city with Grasshopper and i wonder to myself: is anyone out there?, or maybe i am blind, but i really have the feeling that i am kind of alone here.

the idea is meet people, talk, learn and be able to work together.

greetings,

Javier

Hi Javier

I am based In Dessau in term time @ DIA but as its only 2hrs away by RE train from Berlin. so keep me posted.

Cheers

Matt

the most important is to get a group interested to share and learn knowledge. Poznan and Dessau is not so far away from here and i think we have the same feeling about the low activitie.

in Berlin there are many architects, designers, artist, schools, universities... but seems like, in compare with other places, the interest in this kind of design is not strong at all.

maybe i am wrong, but this is the reason of this post: to know.

greetings and thanks both to answer,

Javier

when iam looking at this map

http://www2.clustrmaps.com/counter/maps.php?url=http://www.grasshop...

it seems that iam only one here ;)

jajja good one!
if the meeting happens let me know
what do you think about making a small workshop for ppl from this forum ? We can arrange something in here (poznan). Iam student of poznan fine arts university, i think it would be possible to make it happen.

Hi guys,

I'm a student and tutor for rhino and (most important) grasshopper at the Bauhaus-University Weimar, and I think you are right, but not only in Berlin is a low activity about official or open grasshopper stuff, in whole Germany there are not much workshops or meetings as they obviously should be (just remembering the clustermap).

So when you plan to do something keep me posted too.

Maybe, but this is just an idea, it would be nice to have also in Germany a yearly meeting/ workshop of grasshopper/rhino users and for instance every year placed in a different city, or of course every year placed in the same place, I don't know.

Berlin is not so far apart, but (out of the middle of Germany) every other German city too.

So yes there are some out there and I guess, no I know more than are shown on the clustermap.

And for sure if you are near Weimar and interested feel invited to visit us.

Best Martin.

Seems (checking out the map) like people use Grasshopper, but somehow the community is dead.

in my opinion is important to have meetings, workshops... because you can meet people interested in the same things, and to learn is very important to exchange knowledge.

is very positive as Mateus and Martin suggest, be oppened to move.

i don't know how many people really are interested to share and make contacts, but i feel a little bit envy when i see the activity of other communities like in south america, or spain (my country), GB....

and when i saw the map linked by Mateus i really was very surprised about how many people in Germany use Grasshopper, but in the other hand, when i see that the last workshop here in Berlin was in 2009, i am also surprised about.

and yes, i think we have to move and try to make a good work community!!!

i will start small workshop for students at my university, in the middle of june. after that i can arrange something here (poznan) to do. for ppl from germany it would be quite cheap to spend some time here ( i can host someone in my house ).

my friend is a tutor at copenhagen smg workshop, when he will be back i will ask him about organizing some workshop here - but as you can see, in poland GH is rather unknown, so we will need foreigners ;]

also if you are active in any kind of academic organization (as I am) it would be much easier to do something.

this could be interesting!

lets keep in contact.

greetings,

Javier
